Caroline Chao

Caroline Chao is an interior architect and furniture designer, leading her design studio called From: C. She is currently based in New York City with roots in San Francisco, California. She completed her Master of Architecture degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and her undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. Her work is driven by an intense interest in both cultural and natural effects on embodied perception, often centered around natural phenomena and the cultural effects of the digital age. She is passionate about creating objects and spaces that spark curiosity, encouraging us to more deeply understand our physical environment. Informed by her architectural pursuits, her work often centers around the effects of light, optics, and space on how we perceive our surroundings.
