Tina Scepanovic

Tina Scepanovic is a Chinese American sculptor and installation artist transforming everyday objects, found and vintage materials, using historical painted finishes. Embracing decorative arts techniques that date back to antiquity, her practice seeks to preserve these centuries-old methods while bringing our awareness to the human behind our things. Notable commissions include an installation of her ongoing Gobstoppers series in 3 World Trade Center (2022). Her current focus is a conceptual collection using primarily vintage glass that explores domestic life and relationships. While largely self-taught, Scepanovic was trained in historical methods of furniture restoration at the Isabel O’Neil Studio in New York City and is a student of traditional water gilding under the internationally renowned gilder Charles Douglas. She works out of her home studio in Westchester County, New York, where she lives with her husband and two kids.
